In 2010 (to begin this journey), a house move was planned to another part of the country - a ‘sea view’ being a top priority. (My father had wanted to do this when he retired but died before ever taking that step - now creatively, I want it too.) Further, a‘business’ that was based within the home was to be 'divorced from it' & moved to its own ‘studio’ location a few miles away from the ‘new house/home’. With all this to co-ordinate & ultimately use, it was necessary that any creative medium should easily & quickly ‘record’ important events for me, as they happened. At the time, I didn’t know why I needed to do this & equally didn’t know when I would be able to refer or use these ‘records’ again in the future.
As ‘familiar tools’ would be out of action or stored away for a period (as no house sale or purchase had taken place), I decided to buy an up-to-date compact digital camera & enhance various computer skills. Now I was ready to start but first, ghosts from my past should be put to rest & a good place to start my new creative ‘route’ would be somewhere I had always found especially ‘captivating & inspirational’. In my teens, a ‘bridge’ had been the pathway to a youthful ‘escape’ & was somewhere I wanted to visit before I moved - plus some ‘ghosts to lay to rest’ actually lived nearby!
At this early stage, I don’t know exactly what I’m hoping to achieve or ‘in what form’ I shall ultimately depict it but am looking forward to finding out especially as, with experience, I’ve learnt to record what I do, why I do it & how I do it!

I hadn’t been to this 'haunt' for several decades & had always found it mesmerising - now, on my new journey, I wondered WHY? I took many photos to record my time here & nearing the end of my visit, a young ‘hoodie’ walked slowly past me. Not really taking any notice & in typical ‘holiday mode’, I continued to take some more shots. However, looking at them later on the computer, it was rather ‘odd’ for me to see a hooded figure captured at the end of the bridge. Was that a ghost being laid to rest as he slowly walked past me & slipped away into the distance?
